Community Coaching · 1:1 · Not your seat?

You keep the community alive. Now prove it's working.

1:1 coaching for community managers. We benchmark what “alive” means, build a rhythm members come back for, and cut the engagement you're manufacturing by hand. The result: numbers you can show, and your evenings back.

Where it goes wrong

Nine times out of ten, the leak is between Engage and Retain.

You can feel it going quiet before any dashboard shows it. Fewer replies, the same six names doing all the talking, and a sense that if you stopped posting for a week, nobody would notice. Then someone asks for the engagement numbers.

I look at every community through the same five-stage flywheel. Most leaders pour everything into the front of it and nothing into the stage where people decide whether to come back. That stage is where we work.

Front of the flywheel: solvedThe gap: our job
Your first 90 days

Three things you'll be able to show in three months.

Not a curriculum. Three jobs we do in order, with your community and the time you actually have.

01

Benchmark what "alive" means

We set your benchmark and agree what a healthy month looks like in numbers. You stop defending engagement with screenshots.

02

Build the rhythm

Rituals members return for, on a cadence you can hold. The same six names stop carrying the room because the room has somewhere to be.

03

Stop manufacturing engagement

Cut what isn't working, automate what doesn't need you, and protect your energy for the conversations that do.

How a month works

You bring the decision. I help you think it through.

Two proper conversations a month, room to put something into practice between them, and me in the hub while you do. You set the priorities before each session.

Session one

Bring the decision you're facing

Onboarding, a quiet channel, a ritual that's dying, a pricing change. We work the options and trade-offs and you pick a next step.

In between

You try it in your community

You stay in charge of what happens. Ask focused questions in the hub as you go; I reply within 24 hours.

Session two

Bring what happened

What changed, what didn't, what surprised you. We make sense of it against your benchmark and choose where to focus next.

I'm here between the conversations, too.

Shared spaces in the coaching hub for the general questions, DMs for anything private. Steady support, not on-call or unlimited messaging; if a busy stretch changes my 24-hour window, I'll tell you first.

The honest answer to "how will we know?"

You won't have to guess whether it's worth it.

Anyone who guarantees engagement or retention numbers is guessing. What I can promise is a clear read on movement against where you started, built into how we work.

(no vanity metrics)

01

We set a benchmark

A short intake before our first session captures where your community is today, so "better" is a comparison, not a mood.

02

We check in monthly

A five-minute reflection each month: what you tried, what changed, what's working, where you want to go next.

03

We step back at 90 days

A retrospective against your benchmark. What moved, what didn't, and how we sharpen the next stretch.

Word of mouth

New offer. Not new work.

I've mentored and coached community founders and teams for years, from solo memberships to communities tens of thousands strong. The coaching seat is new; the work behind it isn't.

(their words, not mine)

Hiring Candice was an absolute game-changer for my Circle community. She swooped in with the most mind-blowing Notion audit that highlighted every single opportunity I was missing. Since then we've worked together to set up efficient paywall structures, and the difference is night and day. If you're looking to get the best out of your membership, you need her in your corner.

Candice was instrumental in helping us create a great process to set up our community platform and track and streamline our community engagements, especially helping create documentation and training to help us run it well. The core team felt confident and assured that we could continue to engage our community in a meaningful way. Highly recommend and will work with her again.

Is this you?

If you stopped posting for a week, would anyone notice?

This is for you if

  • ✓You have a community or membership with real people in it, or you're about to launch one and want the first thirty days right from the start.
  • ✓You're responsible for engagement and have to prove it's working.
  • ✓You want to run it yourself, better, with a second set of eyes that has done this thirty times.
  • ✓You'd like to stop manufacturing engagement on your own energy.

Not yet if

  • ✗You want it done for you: daily management, moderation, a report and a roadmap. That's my consulting door, not this one.
  • ✗You want a guaranteed number. Community is human; I'll guarantee you always know where you stand.
Questions

The practical bits.

What is this, exactly?

1:1 community coaching on a monthly retainer. Think of me as a regular thinking partner for the engagement, retention and operational decisions behind a community people want to come back to. Two 60-minute sessions a month, plus support in the coaching hub between them. You stay in charge of your community; I help you see it clearly and decide what to do next.

How is this different from an audit, or someone running my community?

It's coaching, not done-for-you. I won't run your community, moderate it, or drop a report and a fixed plan on your desk. We work out where it's leaking and what to do about it together, and you run it. That's the point: the fix stays yours, so it keeps working after we stop.

How do you find what's actually wrong?

Through the Community Flywheel: Acquire, Convert, Engage, Retain, Advocate. We set a benchmark at the start and you share context up front, so we both see your real starting point. In sessions we find where members quietly drop, nine times out of ten between Engage and Retain, and where your best openings to grow are hiding.

Do I get a roadmap?

You build one, with me. I don't hand over a pre-written plan; we shape your priorities into one you own and can run with the time and team you have, and adjust it as things change. A plan you built yourself is one you'll follow.

Do you guarantee results?

No. Community is human and you're the one running it. What I guarantee is that you'll always know where you stand against your benchmark and what to do next, every month.

What does it cost, and how do I pay?

R10,000 per month, the same for every client, billed in rand. Pay the first three months upfront and it's R25,000 instead of R30,000. International clients see an indicative equivalent as a guide; rand is the base fee.

Is there a minimum commitment?

One month. I suggest three, because real change in a community doesn't happen in a few weeks and three months gives us enough runway to shift something that sticks, but the first month is yours to decide. It runs month to month and you can cancel with two weeks' notice.

What if I need to move a session?

Give me a day's notice and we'll move it. A same-day cancellation or a missed session without a genuine reason is forfeited. Sessions don't roll over automatically; each month's two are there to be used that month. Tell me early and we'll make it work.

Do you offer refunds?

On the month-to-month plan, no: the current month and any sessions already delivered aren't refundable. On the 90-day upfront plan, if you change your mind within the first month you get one month back, as a refund or as credit towards later work, your choice. Beyond that, give two weeks' notice and we wrap up cleanly.

I haven't launched yet. Can I still work with you?

Yes, and it's one of the best times to start. Getting onboarding, rituals and measurement right before the first members arrive means you never have to unpick a bad first thirty days. We set your benchmark at launch instead of at month three.

Will I need to move my community?

No. Your coaching happens in my hub; your members stay wherever they are. I help you work through what suits them and your capacity.

Why only ten seats?

Because the between-session support is real. Ten is the number where every client gets replies within a day and a coach who actually knows their community. When the seats are full you can join the waitlist and I'll tell you when one opens.

Ten seats

Keep it alive. Prove it. Keep your evenings.

Tell me what you're running, what's working and where it feels like it's slipping. No polished pitch; I'd rather hear the real version.
